Have you ever felt just plain defective because you can't just fix this already?

It is important to know that you did not cause this, This is not a position that you chose to be in.

There are many reasons for social anxiety disorder.

Here are just a few.

Some Common Root Causes of Social Anxiety

Hereditary

Scary fact - if you have more than one family member with anxiety, it is not uncommon for you to develop it too. It is not really known if anxiety runs in families because of genetics or behaviors learned at a young age.

Fear is a strong emotion. Think about it. If you are in a room with 20 people and one person one person becomes terrified that the walls are closing in, that one person's fear will always be the thing that you most remember about that room.

Now imagine what seeing intense anxiety would do to a child?

Chemical Imbalances can be the source of a lot of trouble. They can cause depression, overeating, paranoia, and in some cases a chemical imbalance can make you physically sick.

So it is no wonder that a chemical imbalance can also cause a great deal of anxiety.

Medication should help with chemical induced social anxiety, but please remember, medication alone is not a cure. You should also seek another form of therapy as well.

Trauma

Trauma can trigger many things, including social anxiety. For instance, if you witnessed something traumatic that made you afraid of strangers, that could easily trigger social anxiety.

When dealing with trauma, therapy will help. Just make sure you find a therapist that you feel comfortable talking to

I know you feel desperate and alone. But it does not have to be this way.
