Generalized Anxiety

Generalized Anxiety is one of the most common anxiety types. If you are dealing with generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), you will have an intense fear of everyday things, (money, family, bills, etc.). Most people worry about these things on a daily basis. But the generalized anxiety sufferer will not be able to stop thinking about them.

Someone with this type of anxiety will lose sleep, be unable to concentrate, and possibly go into depressions because they feel like they cannot escape these things.

Chronic Anxiety

This is another one of the most common anxiety types. A person with chronic anxiety will experience the same things that someone with general anxiety does, but to a much more intense level. Usually with chronic anxiety there are frequent and brutal anxiety attacks. These attacks typically happen more than once a week and can last for hours, and on rare occasions, days.

Social Anxiety

It is not uncommon to have a bit of social anxiety if you are dealing with one of the other common anxiety types. It makes sense, after all when you are sick you don't want anyone else to see you sick. Anxiety is no different.

You have to be careful when dealing with social anxiety though. If you are missing days from work, making excuses to get out of social gatherings, or don't want to leave the house, then you could have social anxiety disorder.

Anxiety Disorder

Usually anxiety disorder has one or more of the common anxiety types in it. In other words, someone with anxiety disorder usually has chronic anxiety coupled with social anxiety and so on. If you think you are dealing with any of these common anxiety types it is important that you create a journal of how you are feeling every day, and what caused any anxiety you had that day.

When you start on an anxiety treatment plan, using a journal will let you see what has helped, what has made it worse, and what you could do differently.
